Friends of Adaklu Donates Starlink Internet Devices to Five Schools in Volta Region

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, on Tuesday, 6th May 2025, received a courtesy visit from Madam Stella Judah, Country Director of Friends of Adaklu (FOA), to formally announce the donation of Starlink Internet Connectivity Devices to five selected schools in the region.

The donation, made in collaboration with FOA’s partner organization, Our Future Prize (OFP), marks the launch of a new initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide and promoting online learning in underserved communities. Each of the five schools will receive a Starlink device with one year of free data and access to online learning resources.

The beneficiary schools include Adaklu Dawanu Salvation Army Basic School (Adaklu District), Impact Hub Academy in Dzolokpuita (Ho West), Akpokofe District Assembly Basic School (Agotime Ziope), Tanyigbe SHS (Ho Municipality), and Agotime SHS (Agotime Ziope).

Madam Judah explained that the program is designed to deepen students’ digital skills, encourage self-tutoring, and foster global online collaboration. She expressed hope that this would be the first step toward broader ICT integration in rural schools across the region.

Hon. James Gunu commended FOA and OFP for their efforts, stating that the initiative aligns with the government’s agenda to expand access to quality education through technology.
